Reducing Dust, Allergens and Keeping a Basement Warmer in Manchester, CT

This customer called us out to check out a problem they were having in their home. Originally they called us out to install a new beautiful sliding glass door as well as a basement window. These homeowners had a lot of dust and allergens in their home, especially in the basement. We sat down and went over out Energy Evaluation results with them and recommended they have their rim joist insulated. We explained that this would make their home healthier and warmer. They agreed, to increase energy efficiency in the home and keep out dust and allergens by taking this measure.

To start off, we have to use our two-part expanding spray foam. We spray this on the rim joist as well as over the sill plate. This seals all air leaks from the outside and all of the important areas of the home. Our spray foam has a very high insulation value if R7 per inch. Since this foam expands, it seals all of the cracks and gaps where air from the outside can enter their home.
