Getting Rid of Mold and Moisture in Charlemont, MA

This homeowner had an energy audit done and the company doing the audit refused to go further upon discovery of a rather invasive mold situation. The homeowner was desperate to get to the root of the problem and get it remedied immediately. The homeowner came across our ad in a local publication and gave us a call.

The solution to fixing the problems in this home was quite a process. This home has 3 crawlspace areas that all needed to be extensively treated with MoldX2™ Cleaner and Botanical to get rid of existing mold and help to prevent future mold from growing. Each Crawlspace needed to have our Crawlspace Encapsulation System installed with Drainage Matting, TerraBlock™ Floor Insulation and SilverGlo™ Insulation on the walls. In addition, we used ZypFoam™ Closed-Cell Spray Foam Insulation around the Rim Joists in the basement and crawlspaces to properly air seal and help keep moisture out. We Installed a SmartPump™ and SmartPipe™ System in the crawlspace under the living room to eliminate water. We also installed a SaniDry™ High Performance Basement Dehumidification System in Main basement area. After removing old and replacing attic insulation with TruSoft™ Cellulose , TiteShell™ Can Light Covers and air sealing in attic, this job is a Wrap!

This homeowner in East Windsor, CT had issues with mold in her home but was not sure where it was coming from.

She had old, messy insulation that we removed. We then treat the attic for mold with our Mold-X2. To make sure that the problem does not persist, we ensure that the attic can vent out moisture while also sealing off any air leaks to the home below. Lastly we blow in our cellulose.

Replacing an Inadequate Sump Pump in East Hampton, CT

This homeowner in East Hampton, CT called us with water issues in his home. When our Home Comfort Specialist came out to the home, he noted that there was an inadequate sump pump already in the home that needed to be replaced.

In order to help this customer, we first had to remove the ineffective sump pump and the pipes that were attached to it. We then set to work replacing it. We replaced it with our TripleSafe™ sump pump. This sump pump features three pumps! The first pump is a 1/3 hp, cast iron Zoeller pump that can pump up to 2200 gallons per hour, 8 feet high. Should the first pump fail or not be able to keep up with the temporary heavy flow of water, a 1/2 hp AC back-up pump on a separate discharge line can pump 3900 gallons of water per hour. If the power fails, then a third, battery operated "UltraSump" pump automatically pumps up to 12,000 gallons of water out of the basement.

Now, this homeowner will have peace of mind that he has three pumps keeping his basement dry!

Replacing an Old Sump Pump in Wilbraham, MA

This homeowner originally called us hoping that we would be able to help him with insulating his new home. When we arrived at the home to go over his concerns and comfort level, he stated that he had an inadequate sump pump and did not know if we were able to take care of that. Of course, we told him YES, we do sump pumps!

We helped this homeowner by installing one of our SuperSump™ sump pump systems. This system features a 1/3 hp cast iron pump which can discharge up to 2200 gallons per hour, 8 feet high. It even features a WaterWatch™ alarm system that will alert the homeowner if the pump were to fail. Now, this homeowner can rest easy knowing that their basement is adequately protected.

Mold Concerns in Salem, CT

This homeowner in Salem, CT called us out to their home for a Home Energy Evaluation. During our Attic walkthrough portion of the visit we noticed they had old, nasty fiberglass insulation and mold in their attic! Mold in your attic is not normal, and it is for sure not healthy. It means there is another problem in your home that is causing relative humidity in your home to go above 75% so mold can grow on wood and insulation. We can treat the home and prevent more mold from growing, but can we eliminate the mold that is already there? YES we can!

We use our Mold-X Neutralizer which kills all mold spores and stops the future growth. We spray this in the attic and make sure it reached all nooks and crannies where mold may grow. the mold is still visible, but it is dead. Next we use out Mold-X botanical to clean the mold stains off of any surface.

In the photo you can see the black mold, and old insulation, in the after photo you can see old insulation is removed, and we have started out air sealing and insulation process as well.

Now, thanks to Dr. Energy Saver by Eco Energy Solutions this home is now safe environment!
