Updating Attic Insulation and Treating Mold in Westfield, MA

This homeowner in Westfield, MA called us out to their home for a quote on upgrading their attic insulation. When we got to their home, in the attic we noticed very old, nasty fiberglass and blown-in insulation. We also noticed something more concerning, mold! Mold can be very harmful, especially to younger/older people, and pets!

To begin, we prepped the home and protect the homeowners belongings. Next, we remove all of that old, nasty fiberglass and blown-in insulation, bag it up and properly dispose of it. Now we can treat that mold! We use our MoldX2 Cleaner to kill any and all mold spores. This can be sprayed directly on effected materials, or fogged to get into all nooks and crannies. Next, we use our Mold-X2 Botanical to remove the mold stains off of effected areas. Now, we air seal any top plates with foam. Finally, we can blow in our TruSoft Cellulose insulation which fills all gaps and odd shaped voids! The last thing we do, is install an insulated scuttle cover! Thanks to Dr. Energy Saver by Eco Energy Solutions, this house is more comfortable, safer, and energy efficient!

Reducing Sound in a Home with Cellulose in Higganum, CT

This homeowner in Higganum, CT called us out to their home for help with some sound reduction. Many homes have little to no wall insulation, and this can make it very noisy from one room to another.

We got to the home to help this homeowner. First, we drill holes in the walls as pictured in the "before" photo above. Now, we can insert our Cellulose hose into the holes and dense pack from the bottom of the wall, to the top, and over to the next hole until the walls are completely dense packed! Thanks to Dr Energy Saver by Eco Energy Solutions, this will result in drastic sound reduction, less drafts, and lower heating and cooling bills!

In the before photo you can see the drilled holes in the wall, and the after photo you can see the cellulose dense-packed into the walls before the hole is re-plugged and compounded over!

Insulating a Rim Joist in Windsor, CT

This home owner in Windsor, CT had called us to come out to her home and check out her basement. One thing that we have to know when dealing with basements is that this area of the house is where a lot of air infiltration occurs. Due to the rim joist not being insulated or air sealed, she definitely had a problem. To fix this, our crew went down there and sprayed the rim joist with a 2-part expanding poly foam. This will seal up all the cracks and opening in the rim joist and help stop conduction loss by giving it some much needed insulation. Now this home owner will no long have to worry about her cold floors in the winter!

Insulate & Air Seal Dryer Vent & Bathroom Vent in Feeding Hills, MA

This Feeding Hills, MA homeowner contacted Fogarty's Home Services to evaluate their home for energy efficiency. When we arrived, we found that the dryer and bathroom vents were not air sealed or insulated. When this type of ventilation is not installed properly, air will leak, causing temperature and moisture discomfort in the home. The homeowner will also experience higher energy bills. Fogarty's Home Services installed Foamax® insulation over the plywood covering where the vents are located. Foamax® is an advanced polyisocyanurate foam insulation panel designed with a white foil finish on the front and a foil vapor barrier on the back. The white finished face brightens the basement and the vapor barrier helps control basement humidity. Foamax® makes a big difference in the temperature of your walls, providing a comfortable basement and lowering heating costs. Fogarty's Home Services installed Foamax® insulation over the plywood covering where the vents are located. Insulating a Wall in Suffield, CT

This homeowner wanted their upstairs to be more comfortable.  Our Team insulated this interior wall which was above a porch.  The porch was not a conditioned space allowing cold air to enter the home.  Our Team used our SilverGlo Expanded Polystyrene Foam insulation board.  SilverGlo is infused with graphite and specially manufactured with a radiant barrier on both sides to reflect roof heat out in the summer and house heat back in during the winter.  The upstairs of this home will be more comfortable throughout the year.
